. . . Original samples of salesmen’s globes are scarce. LaBarbera said they are valued from $300 to $1,000. He has collected lightning rods and their ornamentation for over thirty years. “It is a fascinating hobby,” said LaBarbera, who got his first globe, a blue one, for $15 at a flea market in Belleville, Illinois, in the 1990s.
